“Managed Cloud” is a term that describes a cloud infrastructure (cloud hosting) with included technical support and system administration of the infrastructure environment. Managed Cloud Hosting includes technical and system administration of the operating system (OS) and core server functionality of:
a) The underlying physical infrastructure used to host the cloud servers.
b) The virtualization technology and cloud computing platform used to create and manage the cloud server environments.

As it with the managed physical servers (see "What is Managed Hosting" above), the Managed Cloud Hosting service includes the technical and system administration of all networking, and software technologies used to create the cloud server environments that host applications.

One important difference between a "managed bare metal server" and a "managed cloud server" is how virtual infrastructure and virtual networking are managed and automated. This requires specific expertise and knowledge, which varies depending on the virtualization technology used.

Please note that the cloud infrastructure sold by major hyperscale providers, such as AWS and Azure, is unmanaged by default. Customer support, system administration, and technical administration are not included in the service. Users who need support must pay an additional fee for access.
